Memory gaps.
Lilian.
The metallic scent of blood filled the air and my nostrils flared.
“Where have you been?” A stern voice cut through my hazy mind and I blinked twice.
My body felt heavy, and my head was pounding, the scent getting even stronger.
“Daemon!” A short yell ensued. “I've found her.”
My hands moved, and I felt the gritty sand against my body. Was I lying on the floor? How did I get here? What happened? The last thing I remembered was eavesdropping on Hailey and Oliver's conversations.
“Goddess!” A shrill scream pierced the air, and I immediately recognized it as Kelly's voice.
Was she back already?
“Whose blood is that?” I heard her shaky question.
I could picture her hand slapped over her face in shock. I didn't even know what was happening to me. I hadn't even opened my eyes. My eyelids felt too heavy to lift, all I could do was smell, feel, and hear.
“Is she… dead?” Kelly asked again, her voice getting even closer to me.
“She's breathing” Wilder said dismiss
