Sherman
I couldn't believe my ears. "You're seriously worried about that right now?"
My eyes locked onto Silvia's face, my voice thick with disbelief.
She lay beside me, her slender body wrapped in soft linen sheets, bandaged hands resting uselessly at her sides.
Yet the mischievous gleam in her eyes when she looked up at me showed she wasn't dwelling on our recent brush with death.
"I have a contract to fulfill, don't I?" She furrowed her brow, feigning seriousness.

"What kind of man do you think I am? I wouldn't force an injured person to do that, Silvia."

The mere suggestion made my stomach turn.

I swallowed hard, forcing myself to breathe evenly.
My heart was racing too fast, and my wolf let out a few anxious moans.
This was getting worse by the day.
