  "Aria?" Rory called Aria's name but didn't get a response.

  

      Aria disappeared again, but Rory was feeling that something was wrong

  

      "Aria, are you there?" Before Rory could finish her question, Blake's action interrupted her.

  

      "You have a fever." Blake was stunned after seeing her face. He placed his hand on her forehead to feel the temperature and then sighed.

  

      Rory was dizzy from the fever, so she subconsciously pushed him away.

  

      "I'm fine. Please call Nicki for me, she'll take me back."

  

      Blake's gaze was cold but resigned. He bent down to pick her up and dialed Nicki's number.

  

      "Mrs. Patty, I'm taking her to the hospital now."

  

      Rory felt dizzy, but she moved closer toward the warm chest. She could feel the man's warm breath blowing into her ear.

  

      Blake was gone by the time Rory woke up.

  

   

  Darius let out a low growl of discontent.

  

      Blake patted his hand and snuffed out the flame on his fingertips.

  

      Cole and his friends went to Club Spade for drinks.

  

      Cole didn't talk much. He just kept sipping his drink with a frown all night. He couldn’t help but think of the things that were popping up in his mind.

  

      "Is Alpha Cole really divorced? So, is he going to make Sylvia his Luna?"

  

      They didn't dare to disturb Cole, so they just chatted not far away.

  

      "Of course!"

  

      "Alpha Cole and Sylvia are perfect together! Rory is really not good enough for him. Not only is she poor, she's an orphan."

  

      "I wouldn't say that. When Alpha Cole's career was at a low point, Rory did a lot for him. Rory found several of the projects he invested in for him."

  

      Cole looked up and asked, "What did you say?"

  

  

  "It's not a coincidence." Rory stared at the people calmly and whispered, "I'm moving in here."

  

      "What are you talking about? Cole has divorced you, so this house belongs to us, The Rotwoods Pack. You have no right to move here." Luna Sophie was so angry that she laughed. She saw how anger registered on her beautiful face.

  

      "Rory, you're shameless! You're already divorced, so maybe you should stop pestering him." Viola couldn't stand it.

  

      They both spoke to Rory in condescending tones, apparently unaware that Alpha Cole had given her the house.

  

      "Ms. Lane, if you really don't have a place to live, why don't I call Cole and ask him to lend you another house? I'm sorry, but my parents want to live in here." Sylvia said softly, although she, too, felt extremely embarrassed.

  

      "It's my house, so your arrangement is none of my business," Rory said. She didn’t care how she sounded. "In fact, Cole has already given me the house."

  

      "What are you talking about? How could Cole give you the house for no reason?" She asked with her eyebrows knitted together.

  

      "Exactly! He's not a fool! Are you out of your mind?"

  

      Luna, Sophie, and Viola couldn't believe Cole would do such a thing. They knew Cole didn't love Rory at all, so they didn't believe he would give her the house.

  

      "You're shameless! You are already divorce, but you still want something from him." Even Audrey couldn't help but sneer.

  

      "You can ask him yourselves," Rory said calmly. She wasn't angry, but she just called Cole and put him on speakerphone. She didn’t have much time to argue with those people.

  

      "Cole, it's Audrey. I've been living in this house for a while, but today your ex-wife came by and insisted that she owns it. She wants us to move out. How could you give her the house? You knew it would make Sylvia feel bad, didn't you?" When the call came through, Rory said nothing, but Audrey spoke immediately.

  

      "Please stay there for now. I'll talk to her. "Cole then remembered the house was in the process of being transferred and that it was supposed to be Rory's. He was silent for a moment before saying.

  

      "Okay, please talk to her," Audrey said with a smile.

  

      When he heard Rory's voice, Cole pursed his lips tightly. He subconsciously wanted to save Sylvia's and the pack's faces but didn't know how to explain that to Rory.

  

      "Rory, you're not going to live in this house, right? How about letting Sylvia's parents stay for a while? They'll be gone after the Luna coronation anyway," he said after a moment of hesitation.

  

      "I see. Since you're getting married, I'd appreciate it if you and I could get the divorce finalized in the next two days," Rory said, even though she was already disappointed in him.

  

      She hung up the phone after that.

  

      Sylvia's eyes widened when she realized Rory hadn't divorced Cole yet.

  

      "How the hell did she get in here? Security! Get her out of here now!" Luna Sophie became smug, so she called the security guard at the public house.

  

      "Mom, Ms. Lane is Cole's ex-Luna anyway, so it's not a good idea to kick her out. Since there are some vacant rooms here, why don't we let Ms. Lane stay here?" Sylvia immediately advised Luna Sophie. The woman felt that it would be the best way not to create commotion between the two parties.

  

      "It's not necessary." Rory ignored everyone.

  

      It started to rain heavily as she was leaving that house.

  

      Rory's phone only had two percent of battery left. She couldn't help but laugh at herself.

  

      Surrounded by forest trees, there was no place to hide from the rain. She was drenched and looked especially wretched in the pounding rain.

  

      Suddenly, a Porsche stopped beside her, followed by a man walking towards her with a black umbrella.

  

      His umbrella blocked the deluge of rain.

  

      "Ms. Lane, what a coincidence!" Blake smiled calmly, looked at her and said.

  

      "Yes, I didn't expect to run into you here. Lycan king, can you give me a ride?" Rory asked awkwardly.

  

      Blake didn't answer directly. He sized her up, "Get in."

  

      The car was well-heated. Blake handed her a towel once she was in the car.

  

      He looked down at his papers, giving her time to wipe the rain off her body.

  

      Rory was dazed as she wiped the rain off her head.

  

      She had met him only a few times, but he had saved her at the most embarrassing times.

  

      ‘Is he doing this to persuade me to let me treat his sister?’ She thought to herself.

  

      "It's raining heavily outside and you're wet from the rain. Why don't you go to my house and change your clothes?" She was deep in thought when the car slowed to a stop in front of an apartment building.

  

      As soon as she looked up, she met his gentle gaze.

  

      Rory did not refuse but nodded slowly. She had no choice.

  

      The apartment was near the mansion, and she guessed that was probably why he had brought her here.

  

      To Rory's surprise, the apartment was warmly decorated, with wallpaper in the color of the blue sky and cloud patterns on the roof, which made her feel better.

  

      Rory blinked as she couldn't believe that was Blake's home.

  

      After hearing the door open, a middle-aged woman came out and said welcomingly, "King Blake, how do you do? Who is this young lady with you?"

  

      "Mrs. Patty, this is my friend Rory, she's here to take a shower and change her clothes."

  

      "Please come in. I'll get you one of Hailee's clothes and make you some soup." Mrs. Patty immediately helped Rory take off her wet coat.

  

      "This is my sister Hailee's house. She's studying at Malar University nearby, and Mrs. Patty lives here to take care of her needs." Blake nodded to Mrs. Patty, then explained to Rory.

  

      Rory nodded.

  

      "If you’ll excuse me, I need to take this call." At that moment, Blake's phone rang.

  

      He turned to walk to the floor-to-ceiling window when Rory's eyes fell on the painting on the wall.

  

      The scene in the painting looked very healing. The autumn leaves were falling in the warm sunlight. Two girls held hands on a swing in a courtyard, laughing happily.

  

      Rory couldn't help touching the painting.

  

      "My sister painted this," Blake explained.

  

      She turned around and noticed that his gaze had become sad. He looked sorrowful but then immediately became calm again.

  

      "King Blake, is the girl in this painting your sister?" Rory asked softly.

  

      Blake nodded. "It was painted when she was fourteen before she got sick."

  

      "And who is this other girl?"

  

      Blake paused for a long time.

  

      "She's a friend of hers." When Rory thought he wouldn't answer, she heard him say.

  

      There was something strange in his tone.

  

      Rory had no intention of probing into other people's stories, so she immediately changed the subject. "Could you tell me about your sister's specific symptoms?"

  

      "She is afraid of blood and suffers from amnesia from time to time. She vomits and screams when she sees strange men. By the way, she can't control her fear and screaming on some occasions. She becomes hysterical."

  

      He looked detached and indifferent.

  

      Rory was lost in thought. The symptoms he had just described were all reactions one would have after being overstimulated, so she guessed that Hailee might have been frightened in some way before.

  

      "Ms. Lane, the bath is ready. Hailee is about the same size as you, so you can wear her clothes."

  

      Before Rory could say anything, Mrs. Patty had come over with the clothes.

  

      Rory thanked her gratefully, then went to the bathroom to shower and change. To her surprise, her immune system was really bad. Her cheeks were flushed when she finished changing and blow-drying her hair.

  

      Blake approached her after seeing her and looked down to check on her.

  

      "Mate," Aria, who had disappeared for a long time, suddenly spoke.
