I pace the pitch-black grounds of Kurt's mansion, waiting for Dante to pick me up. Donning my backpack, I replay Kurt's words one more time. The Alpha himself is tucked away in his bed, fast asleep and satiated from the container of pasta I had brought back with me. Although Dad was completely bewildered by this update and my decision to show a little kindness to a troubled Kurt, he grudgingly let me go. After all, I would be back in a few days time to take Chastity to her check-up. On my way back to the mansion, I gave Dante the call to come and fetch me.
