Chapter 7. Friendly Felines

"Lightning, here boy!" Dante appears behind me, resting his arms against the bench. The neon green set of eyes widen, becoming friendly. All of a sudden, a giant feline-like animal shoots out of the darkened gap, hurtling straight towards us. I let out a squeal of terror as Dante jumps over the bench and kneels down. The oversized cat leaps onto him, purring in delight as Dante tickles its ears. "Sorry if he scared you. Lightning here, is a little wary of strangers. He's a big softie, though." Dante turns slightly, addressing me with a smile. "Where did he come from?!" I splutter, pointing aimlessly. I've never, ever seen such an animal. "Lightning is my boy!" Dante laughs, getting to his feet and making his way to sit in the bench near me. The giant cat follows, eyeing me coldly. "He doesn't like me." I mumble, scooting away to keep my distance.
