The sunlight touched the edge of the curtains, slipping softly into the room, lighting up the shape of his face.
I stirred quietly, barely moving, just… watching.
Logan was still asleep, chest rising and falling gently, his arms tucked under the pillow. One of his hands was resting against my waist like he didn’t want me to slip away. Not even in sleep.
I let my eyes trace the soft mess of his hair, the calm on his face, the slight parting of his lips. He looked so peaceful. So unlike the man who stayed up late reading reports or defending me from the world without flinching.
I pressed my hand gently over his forearm—warm and solid—and just stayed there. Breathing with him. Heart slow.
Last night didn’t feel like a dream anymore.
And still, this morning… everything felt new. Like someone had swapped my life for another one in the middle of the night. Like I was standing in something beautiful but not quite sure how I got there.
