Despite their best efforts to expedite the procedures, it was noon before all the tests were completed. Kevin received an urgent work call during lunch at a nearby restaurant, forcing him to leave abruptly. Esther, dining alone, ordered several dishes that Bradley favored and personally delivered them to the detention center. She needed to see if Bradley's hand had been severed.
