[Violet’s POV] My heart became caught in my throat. Oh, my Gods. “L-Lucian?” He said nothing. Not a greeting. Not a word. His dark red eyes just bored into me with such a level of intensity that I felt as though I was being hunted. I tried backing away. But the moment I moved just one step back, a malicious look flashed across Lucian’s eyes that made my heart stall. As I tried to move back, he took it as an opportunity to move forward. Every step I made, he countered back until my back and shoulders were firmly pressed against the nearest wall. I sucked in a sharp breath, not knowing what to do. My voice trembled. “Luc...” Something was clearly wrong. Never in all my years of knowing Lucian, had he ever acted like this. It was like he wasn’t the one who was in control. He was merely a passenger in his own body. He lifted his hand and reached out to touch me. The tips of his fingers grazed over my jaw and down my neck. My chest heaved as his hand languidly dragged
