Chapter 78

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was half past eleven when we left the jewellery shop so we headed down to the local grocery story to pick up something we could eat on the beach. Uno bought two sandwiches and cola before heading out of the grocery store and near the ocean. We walked down the sandy shore until we found a semi-private area of the beach behind some barnacle-crusted rocks and next to a handful of tide pools. We set our bags of food and toys aside for a moment and found a dry patch of sand to sit on, looking out at the water. We were closed to a lighthouse here, and could see some people surfing further down, but with the rocks encasing this little section of beach, we couldn’t hear any people. “You hungry, baby?” Uno asked and I nodded. He peeled the sandwich open and brought it near me and I willingly opened my mouth and took a bite of it. But then I froze when he lean
