Chapter 1161
Toby's eyes lit up. "Mommy, really?"
Lily nodded. "Yes."
Toby and Tilly were geniuses, and she had never restricted their development. Toby had always been mature for his age. She rarely had to worry about him, let alone discipline him.
Tilly, on the other hand, was a completely different story. That little troublemaker was always up to something. Who knew who she took after?
And when it came to causing destruction, she was on par with Mr. Black. As a result, Tilly was the one who got scolded the most since she was young.
Toby had brought up his new computer project a while ago. It wasn't that Lily didn't support him—she just wanted to see if he was truly committed. Now that he was still determined after all this time, she had no reason to stop him.
"Mommy, you're the best!" Toby was so excited that he forgot all about keeping his composure.
He ran up to Lily, stretching out his hand. "Then, Mommy, give me the money!"
"I don't have any," Lily said flatly.
Five years ago, she had emptied all her accounts. Most of her assets had gone to Elijah. Where was she supposed to get money now?
Toby's face froze in confusion. "Huh? But you just agreed!"
"Ask your dad for it," Lily replied.
Loid was left speechless. So, he was just an ATM now?
Toby scooted closer to Loid and asked, "Daddy, do you even have that much money?"
He had serious doubts about Loid's wealth. Rumor had it Loid hadn't worked in years. Sure, he was a big shot across several countries, but… he also seemed pretty broke.
Toby wasn't sure if he'd actually get the money from Loid.
Loid was at a loss for words. Did he really seem that poor?
With a helpless sigh, Loid pulled out his bank card and handed it over to Lily without hesitation. Then, he turned to Toby and said, "Your mom manages all my money. I only get a thousand dollars a month for allowance. If you want money, ask her."
Toby was speechless.
What a poor guy.
He was even poorer than him.
Toby turned his head to look at Lily again.
Lily glanced at the bank card Loid handed over, smirking. At least he had some self-awareness, knowing to hand it over voluntarily.
She immediately transferred two million dollars to Toby's bank card.
Tilly watched with envy, but she was well aware of her situation. She had made Lily angry last night, so she didn't dare to make any requests now. Otherwise, even her hundred thousand dollars might be taken away.
Making money wasn't easy. She had to cherish what she had earned.
After finishing their meal, Loid and Lily headed to the company. As soon as they left, Tilly scooted over to Toby with a fawning smile. "Toby…"
Toby shuddered and immediately put some distance between them. "Stop right there. This money is not even enough for my research. Don't even think about it."
Tilly was momentarily embarrassed but quickly recovered.
She let out a cheeky laugh. "Toby…"
Then, fully embracing her little troublemaker persona, she pouted. "I'm your sister, your dear, dear little sister. Can you really bear to see me struggling in poverty?"
"You have a hundred thousand dollars," Toby said with a serious expression.
"But I want to buy an emerald! I've had my eye on it for so long, and it costs one million dollars."
Tilly clung to Toby's arm, shaking it back and forth. "Toby, my dearest, most handsome brother in the whole wide world, it's just one million dollars! Look how pitiful I am. Please grant me this little wish!"
