Chapter 1174
A long time passed before Daniel asked, "Has your sister always been so much like a… demon?"
Toby shot him a sidelong glance. "This is only the tip of the iceberg, Mr. Greene."
They would all see her true colors eventually.
Daniel was at a loss for words. He was already starting to worry for his life.
…
Meanwhile, as soon as Arthur returned to Laurier Residence, he angrily asked Melanie, "Where's Loid, that bastard? Call him right away. Tell him to come home and see me!"
Melanie got up and helped him sit down. Confused, she asked, "He's at the company. What's wrong? Who made you so angry?"
"Who else?" Arthur replied, furious. "Can you believe that son of yours? He cheated on his wife! He doesn't deserve Lily's love at all. He has no idea how to cherish an amazing woman like her. Get him to come here immediately! I'm going to break his legs."
"Huh?" Melanie was stunned. "Is that true?"
She thought that Arthur had already seen Lily and figured he must have been so enraged because he found out Loid had done something terrible to Lily. Her expression instantly sank.
"I saw it with my own two eyes. How could it be anything but the truth?" Arthur's face was flushed from anger.
"When did this happen?" Melanie was about to explode from rage too.
"An hour ago," Arthur said.
Melanie kicked the coffee table out of fury. "That bastard. How could he do that to Lily? You have to teach him a lesson. I'm cutting ties with him."
However, the coffee table was so firm that a jolt of pain shot up her foot. She sat on the couch and hugged her foot, tears streaming down her face.
"That's right. We'll kick him out of the Laurier family. I refuse to have a grandchild like him," Arthur agreed.
Loid, who had just returned to his office in Laurier Group after a meeting, suddenly sneezed. He frowned, wondering what was going on. Was someone cursing him?
At that moment, his phone suddenly rang. It was Melanie calling.
"You'd better be home within 20 minutes. If you're even a minute late, I'll die right in front of you."
Loid was speechless. Wasn't threatening him with death a bit too much?
Lily, who had just woken up after a nap, saw Loid deep in thought as he held his phone. She asked, "What is it?"
"I don't know. My mom called and told me to go back. It sounded pretty urgent," Loid responded.
"Go back, then. I'll go pick Tilly and Toby up," Lily said. Olivia had just sent her a text saying that Tilly and Toby were at her place.
Loid nodded. "Be careful. Call me right away if anything happens."
"Okay."
Loid took Lily to Olivia's house before driving to Laurier Residence. When he got there, he walked in and asked, "What happened, Mom?"
He raised his head and saw that Arthur was there too. "You're here too, Grandpa? Why didn't you say anything? I would've picked you up."
"You brat. Get on your knees!" Arthur roared, his hands on his hips.
Loid was utterly confused. Since Loid wasn't moving, Arthur raised his voice. "I told you to kneel. Did you hear me?"
