Chapter 1188

The shop owner saw that the two children were firm in their decision, so he didn't insist on keeping them any longer. He had initially planned to send them home, but they refused. With no other choice, he let them go. After leaving, Toby and Tilly headed to a restaurant near Laurier Group. Lily had just texted Toby, saying she would join them for lunch. Toby quickly found the restaurant by following the address she had sent. Just as they stepped into the establishment, Elijah and the deputy head of East End arrived as well. Earlier that morning, Elijah had been investigating the two children. He had just uncovered a key clue—they had come from Laurier Residence. However, he hadn't been able to visit Laurier Residence in time. Determined to get to the bottom of it, he planned to arrange a meeting with Loid to figure out what was going on. Since it was lunchtime, he decided to grab a meal nearby first. Conveniently, Loid's company was right around the corner. He could eat first and visit him afterward. As soon as they entered, they spotted Toby and Tilly. "Jace, look, it's them—the two kids." The children matched the descriptions they had gathered from their intel. Elijah's gaze darkened as he observed them. "Perfect. Let's follow them and ask if they're the ones who poisoned Hank." Elijah and the deputy head followed Tilly and Toby upstairs. When they saw the two enter a private room, they followed them inside. Tilly and Toby had just sat down when they noticed someone entering. Tilly glanced at Toby and asked, "Did we get the wrong room?" Lily and Loid hadn't arrived yet, and Tilly and Toby were supposed to wait in the room. For now, it was just the two of them. When the strangers entered, Tilly looked slightly puzzled. Toby checked the room number, furrowing his brows together. "We didn't get the wrong room." He turned to Elijah and said, "Hello, you're in the wrong room." Elijah looked at the two children, feeling they seemed oddly familiar. But he couldn't quite place them right away. He looked at Toby and Tilly and said, "I didn't get the wrong room. I'm here to look for you." "Huh?" Tilly said, "I don't like old men, so you shouldn't bother confessing to me. Even if you do, I won't like you. And you don't need to try to bribe us with lollipops because Mommy said that's just a trick to fool little kids. We're not little kids, so it won't work on us." Elijah was speechless. What on earth? He raised his gaze and said in a deep voice, "I'm Elijah Jones from the underground forces. One of my men fell severely ill after an encounter with you two. I'm here to ask what happened." He introduced himself directly, not caring whether they understood or not. Since Hank had said his illness was related to these children, he couldn't treat them as ordinary kids. They must possess extraordinary abilities. "Oh, you're here about that guy?" Tilly stretched lazily and said casually, "We did it. Are you here for revenge?" Elijah narrowed his eyes, "Why did you do it?" "Just because we don't like him," Tilly replied nonchalantly as she poured herself a glass of water. Elijah's expression darkened. "Since there's no valid reason, I'll take it upon myself to seek justice for my man. The underground forces don't tolerate intrusion," Elijah said coldly, lifting his gaze. "But I don't bully children. For this, your parents will bear the punishment in your place." "Are you looking for us?" At that moment, the door to the private room opened, and a cold voice rang out. Elijah turned around and instantly froze, his eyes widening in shock as he took in the familiar face before him.
