Chapter 205

As Yarrick passed by the president's office, he suddenly heard voices from inside. One of them belonged to a woman, and it sounded awfully familiar. The door was slightly ajar, so he crept closer and peeked through the gap. No way! It was Hailey! She was sitting behind the desk, engaged in a business conversation with someone across from her. Since she was clearly in the middle of work, Yarrick decided not to interrupt. He quietly stepped back a couple of paces and made his way to his own office. He didn't shut the door completely, though, figuring it would be easier to hear if anything was going on outside. He let out a breath. He hadn't been back for a while, but the office was still neat and clean. The fish swam lazily in the tank, looking as relaxed as ever. Of course, someone cleaned this room regularly. He plopped into his swivel chair and glanced at the time on his phone. He thought about messaging Hailey but decided against it. She was clearly in the middle of something.
