Raymond thought, "Melanie, let's see how you dodge this time!" After hanging up, Melanie set her phone aside. She and Shawn weren't nearly close enough for her to go meet him, and she had no intention of going. This was obviously fishy. If he really wanted to apologize, why not do it in the daytime? Why did he wait until night to suddenly reach out? She played with Tizzy, but her phone kept buzzing with new messages. Shawn texted, "Melanie, you have to come. I'll be waiting for you. If you don't show, I'm not leaving." She glanced at it, then stood and walked to Derrick's bedroom door, knocking lightly. "Come in." She pushed the door open and found Derrick lying on the bed, scrolling through his phone. He lifted his eyelids lazily. "What is it?" "Mr. Quinton, Shawn said he wants to apologize to me at Mirage Bar." Sick as he was, Shawn still had the energy to hit up a bar and even tried to drag Melanie over. His intentions couldn't be more obvious. Derrick rubbed his fingers
