Verian grabbed her bag and was about to leave. “Auntie, I’ve got other things to handle. I’ll make a move first.”
In Sarah’s eyes, Verian was trying to escape from panic and fear.
Sarah sat on the chair as she poured tea slowly. She let out a cold hum and snorted, “Are you afraid?”
With her back facing Sarah, Verian’s grip on the chain of her bag tightened.
“Auntie, is there anything else I can do for you?”
“No, but I’m not here today to simply tell you this.”
Verian’s face turned slightly pale and her voice shuddered, “Auntie, what exactly do you want from me?”
“I hate your mother and similarly, I hate the child she and my husband gave birth to. I want you to leave North City and never appear in front of me again.”
After hearing that ludicrous and shameless request, the corners of Verian’s lips twitched. “I can understand why you don’t want to see me, but I don’t understand why aren’t you the one leaving North City? Why do I have to leave instead?”
