Amelia Johnson almost choked. “Oh my God, seriously? That’s the Taylor family we’re talking about. They’re not so easy to mess with. I’m not ready to die yet.” Emily Carter replied, “Exactly because it’s tough, that’s why they came to you.” “I’m out. Not taking this job,” Amelia said flatly. “Knew you’d say that.” Emily snickered. “Then why bring it up? You just wasted my time,” Amelia rolled her eyes, clearly annoyed. Emily gave her a knowing look. “You say you wanna be a rich woman, but you’re turning down the easiest ticket to it. Guess that means you’ve got a thing for Damien Taylor.” “Get outta here with that nonsense!” Amelia shot back. “Next time, help me filter these. Today’s job is way too dangerous. I don’t go after legit companies. If it’s one of those sketchy illegal ones, just accept for me.” “Well yeah, I know.
