Jasper swayed on his feet, frustration all over his face. He clenched his fist and knocked it against his forehead. "I've been such an idiot. I really thought Silas Vance was a decent guy. Our families go way back... but turns out, he was hiding the deepest secrets. All these years, I couldn't figure out how my family's clothing factory went down so suddenly. Now I get it-it was Silas. Leander gave him a calm, almost casual glance. "At least you've figured it out now. That's not too dumb if you ask me."
"Leander, can you cut him some slack?" Vanessa threw him a bit of a glare. "He's already blaming himself enough."
