It had rained all night, and now the estate's paths were littered with fallen blossoms.
The morning fog lingered, a soft mist curling around the manor. In the garden, housekeepers moved about with brooms in hand, sweeping up petals—busy and buzzing with life.
"I'm taking Aiden to that art competition tomorrow," Lilah reminded her husband as they walked out of the dining room with their son. Gabriel was about to drive Aiden to his class, and she made sure he was aware. "Don't forget to let the early education center know he won't be attending class."
"Mm." Gabriel had a stoic expression as he held Aiden in his arms, giving the shortest possible reply.
Maybe realizing that sounded a bit cold, he paused and added, "Got it."
Lilah glanced at him, amused, then turned toward Aiden with a warm tone. "Be good in class, baby. Mommy will be waiting for you to come home."
"I will, Mommy. Don't forget to think about me and Daddy while we're gone!"
Dressed in a tiny, well-fitted suit, Aiden looked
