"Maybe Mommy can show you how it's done?" Aiden blinked his big, clear eyes, tossing out the line before Lilah could even react. Violet was too stunned to speak, her face darkening on the spot. Lilah gently stroked the top of Aiden's head, trying to ease the tension. Aiden wasn't the kind of kid to talk back usually... Today seemed a little out of character. Was he doing this on purpose? Did he overhear something? Lilah instinctively glanced over toward the elders from the Wallace family. Aurora had always had a soft spot for Violet. She probably let something slip again today. Violet might be talented, but Lilah was determined to let the Wallace family know—she wasn't any less. "Come on, Aiden, Uncle will take you out for a bit," came a gentle voice. Damien strolled over, crouching down to meet Aiden's eyes with a smile that felt like spring breeze. Clara had been sitting next to Lilah. When she saw Damien, that refined, calm presence of his seemed to lock her gaze before she even rea
