Vivian Grant paused for a beat.
The drug used on Evelyn was seriously strong stuff. It was rare and icy-cold in nature—something most traditional medicine shops wouldn’t even carry anymore. Practically untraceable, too. If Christopher hadn’t questioned her, and if she hadn’t suspected Evelyn was pregnant and come to check herself, Evelyn would’ve had a miscarriage by the third month.
Now though… it wasn’t hopeless, but it wasn’t a done deal either.
“For now, things are stable. I’ll prescribe some herbs to help safeguard the pregnancy. From now on, you absolutely have to stay in bed—no moving around. Keep your stress levels down too, alright?” Vivian gently patted Evelyn’s hand, her tone firm but comforting.
