Chapter 467
Chapter 467: The Man in the Dream
As soon as George Lane left, Alexander Barron slumped into his office chair, feeling like all the strength had been drained from his body. He stared at the mess of papers scattered on the floor, his chest tightening painfully.
"Summer, where the hell are you?"
Not being able to find her was driving him to the edge.
He swiped at his face, wiping away tears he hadn't even realized were there. His eyes were bloodshot, looking almost scary.
The next few days, he didn’t even bother going to work—he just holed up at home, drinking like there was no tomorrow.
Late at night, he curled up on the floor beside the bed, knees drawn to his chest, gripping a bottle of whiskey in one hand and a glass in the other. He kept pouring shot after shot down his throat, the cold liquor trailing from his lips and sliding slowly down his chin.
Hours passed, and the room was heavy with smoke and the stench of alcohol. Empty bottles littered the floor like garbage after a storm.
