Summer’s brows knitted slightly. “Who is it?” she called out. “It’s me, Mrs. Barron,” Emma’s voice answered after a soft knock. Summer relaxed instantly. “Hold on, Em, I’m still in bed.” “Alright.” Emma chuckled softly. She figured the young lady must’ve been flustered after what happened earlier with Mr. Barron and was now too shy to face anyone, hiding under the covers like a little turtle. Meanwhile, Summer kept her voice low as she spoke into the phone. “I need you to dig into what’s been going on with the Knight family lately. Trust me, I won’t let those Hill family jerks bother you again.” “Okay. One last time, then.” Grace didn’t question why Summer suddenly sounded so sharp and composed—totally different from the scatterbrained girl everyone thought she was. Deep down, she believed Summer could really put a stop to the nonsense the Hill family kept stirring. After hanging up, Summer finally got out of bed and called toward the door. “Alright, Em. Come in.” Emma walked in with a
