As soon as she spoke, Cassian's gaze turned a few degrees colder.
Sabrina kept following him, relentless and determined-divorce wasn't just talk for her this time.
Cassian's face could've been carved from stone, tight and unreadable. He clenched the short whip in his hand, then, without warning, lashed it toward her. Sabrina barely managed to dodge in time.
The whip sliced through the air with a loud snap, echoing like some thunderclap right by their ears.
Cassian eyed her coldly, that normal indifference replaced with a dangerous edge. "You really have a death wish, huh?"
It wasn't just Sabrina who was shocked by his fury-the two horses nearby started fidgeting, clearly spooked.
Sabrina stared at his face, handsome even when twisted in anger, and for a second, she was genuinely confused.
A guy like Cassian-rich, attractive, powerful-must have plenty of options. Why would he bother keeping a wife like her, with the kind of messy reputation she had?
