Chapter 136 One Week

Cecilia's fingers clenched tightly into the bedsheet. She had only ever seen Easton in magazines or heard Sean talk about him. This was the real force in the Frost family, the man everyone obeyed without question. Even her placement in this rehabilitation center was his doing. So why was he here? A wave of dread rolled through her. She had only intended to stage a suicide attempt—to win Sean's sympathy, have him take her away, and ruin Helena's plans to marry him. Then he walked out of the room. At the end of the hallway, by the window, Easton stopped and turned. A sharp slap rang out across the hallway. Sean's head jerked to the side from the slap, leaving a bright red handprint across his cheek. He held his face, stunned, and stared at Easton. It was the first time in his life he'd ever been hit.
