Chapter 1940 You Are Not Qualified
When the Grand Priest brought up the Glinting Tome, the atmosphere seemed to become tense.
The world appeared to be completely silent at this time. Frode’s dark laughter could be heard from the other side of the square after a while. He asked, “Grand Priest from Kamikakushi, let me ask you this. Are you eyeing the book as well?”
The flames flickered beneath the Grand Priest’s black cloak. “You have misunderstood me, Frode,” he replied.
“As I previously stated, I have made a special trip here to help you. Tyr is a formidable opponent. I wasn’t belittling you on purpose. I’ve learned from experience that if we worked together, we’d have a much better chance of defeating Tyr.”
“Join forces?” Frode whispered.
“That’s right! Join forces! Tyr will arrive in another two hours at most,” the Grand Priest added. “We can band together to kill him and take his books. Tyr is also said to be carrying an Astra weapon. All of these are good stuff.”
“Join forces to steal his treasures! Hahaha! About that... Grand Priest, how would you like to divide the treasure?”
The flame in the Grand Priest’s eyes grew brighter. “One book for each of us,” he explained, “I can trade the Astra weapon with you for a treasure of equal value.”
“Ahahahahaha!” Frode’s laughter grew louder from the other side of the square. The Grand Priest laughed together because he thought Frode had agreed to him.
Frode’s laughter in the square abruptly stopped the next second. “If I kill Tyr all by myself, then everything he owns will become mine,” he replied icily. “Who do you think you are? Do you believe you are qualified to team up with me?”
The Grand Priest’s expression changed instantly. “Frode, what do you mean by that?”
“Get the hell out of my property now! Don’t blame me for being rude to you if you try to interfere with this situation.”
The Grand Priest’s expression darkened in response. “Frode, you don’t know what's good for you! Are you aware of the strength Tyr possesses…”
Swoosh, swoosh...
Before Grand Priest could finish, he saw a full moon rising from the other end of the square. In the blink of an eye, the moonlight of that full moon formed into a beam of light. It shot toward the Grand Priest just like a sharp arrow.
The razor-sharp arrow possessed a terrifying force. The moment it landed on the ground, that frantic force flew out from the light beamed, forcing the Grand Priest to retreat seven or eight steps.
Frode’s attitude was clearly depicted by this arrow. While many of the Jackals’ actions in America were ethically questionable, the organization had always maintained the same attitude toward Japan.
“Get lost!”
The Grand Priest’s intention to work with Frode was completely shattered by those two words. Despite his rage, the Grand Priest no longer dared to push forward in the face of Frode’s overwhelming strength.
Frode had been a Demigod for a long time. He used to have a stellar record of slaying the Liberated’s Demigod with ease. Now that he possessed the Glinting Tome, Frode’s power had reached an unimaginable level.
Although the Grand Priest spent a long time in the Demigod realm, his most powerful method was the Great Four Shikigami. Spartacus’ slashes from tens of thousands of kilometers away back then had extinguished the Shikigamis he was proud of in Fukuoka’s Sacred Mountain. As a result, the Grand Priest’s strength was significantly reduced.
This was also the reason the Grand Priest had been causing havoc recently. He needed to figure out a way to help himself improve his strength as quickly as possible.
Now that GPE had spread the secrets of the five books to become a God all over the world, Demigods around the globe were becoming fascinated by the books. The Grand Priest wanted to get ahead of the game, but Frode’s attitude had crushed his hopes.
Seeing that it was impossible to continue the negotiation, the Grand Priest didn’t dare to say anything else to avoid pissing off Frode. If the latter made up his mind to kill him, the cost would be greater than the benefit.
“I will see you around!” The Grand Priest didn’t dare to linger any longer, so he turned around and left.
Takahashi and other Kamikakushi executives were nervously waiting for him in their car. When Takahashi noticed the return of the Grand Priest, he immediately inquired, “How’s the negotiation going, Grand Priest? Has Frode agreed to join your cause?”
“That b*stard!” The Grand Priest was cursing, which was enough to convey his rage.
“That guy has no idea what’s good for him! He doesn’t know the difference between chalk and cheese!”
The flames in the Grand Priest’s eyes were flickering wildly. At this point, his features were gradually revealed. There were some visible blue veins densely covered on his forehead, indicating how angry he was.
Takahashi also realized that the Grand Priest had failed with the negotiation. He hurriedly asked, “What should we do next?”
“Hahaha. . . Since that dog refused to cooperate with me, it’s his loss,” the Grand Priest said grimly after a brief outburst. “It’s said that the tussle benefits a third party. Let’s find a place to hide now. We’ll strike once those two have suffered from severe injuries from their fight.”

As the night grew darker, a black sedan approached the Jackals’ manor at breakneck speed. The situation was nearly identical to that of the Liberated headquarters. Presley and his men had evacuated the area as per Frode’s orders. There was no one within a ten-kilometer radius of this location.
The car came to a halt in front of the Jackals’ manor. Tyr was the only one who walked out of the car when the door was opened. Seeing the Jackals’ manor ahead of him, Tyr closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
“Frode, I’m here.” As soon as Tyr’s voice fell, he went straight into the gate.
Frode had been waiting for Tyr on the square for quite some time at this point. The old Demigod opened his eyes and saw right through all of the structures in front of him. Soon, he noticed a fast-moving figure heading in his direction.
Tyr arrived at the square in a matter of minutes.
The vast square was devoid of people. Gales of wind began to form from the surroundings as the two looked at each other.
“You killed my great-grandson, Tyr! I’ll hack you into pieces tonight!”
“Hehe!” Tyr sneered while drawing out the Celestial Blade and wielding it immediately. “Frode, it’s said that might makes right! So, cut the crap! Today, I’m here for the Glinting Tome!”
