Chapter 1952 Take Away The Giant Tree
Of course, Dillon didn’t dare to act rashly. Given how powerful his enemies were, he dared not to mess around because he knew he’d lose badly if he did.
The old man was on his way to the giant tree. As he approached the tree, the tree continued to attack the old man. Yet, his combat prowess was unrivaled. No matter how powerful the tree’s attacks were, they were deflected by the old man’s vitality energy.
As the scene unfolded before his eyes, Dillon was in fear and trepidation. He had been fighting this giant tree for two days and nights, so he was well aware of the magnitude of the tree’s attacks. When the old man approached that tree, he encountered no opposition. This alone demonstrated the old man’s power.
“Who are those foreigners? Why are they so powerful?” Dillon was rather surprised.
All of this, however, was only the beginning. The next scene made Dillon’s scalp go numb.
The old man took a small book from his robes that looked like a bible and was about half a finger thick. He took out the book and walked all the way to the giant tree’s roots. He floated into the air with a silver cross in his hand.
In the end, the old man reached the spot of the giant tree’s beating heart. Dillon noticed that the old man placed the cross in that location of the heart casually. White light radiated from that spot, and it was followed by a loud bang. The sky seemed to be illuminated by this light.
The scene appeared to be the same as if some Gods had descended on the earth. The Forbidden Place, which had previously been filled with murderous intent, appeared to be gentle and warm.
The murderous aura emanating from Dillon’s body was quite strong after two days of combat, but as he bathed in this light, his restless heart gradually calmed down.
“The light is so magical!” Just as Dillon was still engrossed in this pleasant sensation, a scene that he had never imagined occurred. He noticed that the ground beneath his feet began to tremble violently. The white light grew brighter and brighter until it completely filled the space.
Rumble! Rumble! Rumble!
A deafening sound was heard, constantly hammering against Dillon’s eardrums. When he looked into the dazzling white light, he noticed that the Erdtree was being uprooted.
The old man successfully uprooted the Erdtree. A moment later, the Erdtree disappeared at the speed of the light. It only took a minute or two for it to completely disappear. The Forbidden Place appeared to be empty after the tree vanished, and the earthquake began to subside.
Dillon looked at the scene in a daze. His heart was racing involuntarily.
The old man took the book in his hand and slowly descended from the sky to the ground. Meanwhile, his comrades rushed up to him at once.
“Is it done?”
“Yes. The Erdtree is with me,” the old man said with a slight nod. “Let’s go!”
The boorish man cast a malicious glance at Dillon, his eyes filled with homicidal intent.
Dillon detected the rough-looking man’s malice as well. He prepared for a battle instinctively by clenching the Sword of Grace in his hand tightly.
“Should we keep him?”
“Let’s go! Don’t cause new problems for us. That man is a Demigod from the Celestial Empire.” Both the old man and the gentleman expressed their stances. “If you kill him, it will cause us a lot of trouble.”
Following that, the trio left the Forbidden Place together. Only Dillon remained behind, alone and silent for a long time.
Dillon didn’t react until Otes and others entered the Forbidden Place. Only then did he recover from his shock.
They were all taken aback when they saw the situation in the Forbidden Place.
“That tree is gone!” Their jaws dropped the moment they saw the scene. It truly gave them a tremendous shock.
“It was taken away by the trio!” After a long pause, Dillon exhaled deeply and explained, “They possess the type of spatial relic I mentioned earlier. They also refer to this tree as the Erdtree. They must have some knowledge of this tree.”
“Where did those foreigners come from? Why would they travel all the way to the Celestial Empire's Forbidden Place just to steal a tree like this?”
“I have no idea.”
Dillon patted his forehead heavily with his hand a few times. “My hunch tells me that there is something off with the situation,” he said. “Something bad is most certainly going to happen. This situation has gotten out of our control, so I need to inform Tyr.”
“I’ve asked Old Mike to call home,” Otes explained. “I’m guessing Father has informed Tyr of the situation.”
Dillon nodded. Then, he turned around to face the deserted Forbidden Place. After the Erdtree was removed, everything in the Forbidden Place changed in a short period of time.
Apart from the giant tree, some other plants and trees had previously grown in this enchanted space, giving the impression that the place was full of life. All of them were now withering rapidly now that the Erdtree was no longer here, as if their essence of life had been sucked out. Not only that, but the ground beneath them had also darkened over time like it had been charred.
“The Forbidden Place is now worthless. Let’s go. We can talk about this at home.”
“Very well!”
They had rushed to the Forbidden Place, hoping to find treasure, but no one expected that they would end up playing into someone else’s hands. None of them were in a good mood on the way home.
Tyr had already arrived at the White manor ahead of time when they returned.
Tyr and Regis did not go to the Forbidden Place because Dillon and the others had called him ahead of time to explain the situation. Instead, they awaited the return of the expedition group.
Regis and Tyr immediately gathered everyone upon their return to go over the events in the Forbidden Place in detail. A group of senior executives sat in the meeting room. The atmosphere there was rather gloomy.
“What kind of combat strength did those foreigners have, Dillon?” Tyr asked straight away.
Dillon still felt shocked when he remembered the trio’s methods and powerful aura. “The trio’s strength was matched with mine, especially that old man. In my opinion, his combat power should be superior to yours.”
Tyr frowned slightly while the others were bewildered by the situation.
