Leslie got back to Stephanie’s house in the night looking quite unlike herself. Her friend was worried about her and asked what had happened eventually. Leslie sat on the couch and gave a long and deep exhale. “The divorce is almost finalized.” It took Stephanie a few seconds to wrap her mind around what she meant.
