After leaving the hospital, the four of us hit up a quiet restaurant for dinner. Xander ordered a whole case of beer, but for Summer, he specifically asked for a few bottles of milk. I sat next to Summer, and across from me was Xander. Kevin, sitting next to Xander, naturally ended up facing Summer. I watched those two for quite a while—neither seemed in any hurry to speak. Even though Xander was good at livening things up, he wasn’t that close to either Summer or Kevin. Since they were more my crowd, he gave me a look, hinting at me to start the conversation. I cleared my throat, breaking the awkward silence. “Alright, let’s hear it. What’s really going on?” Kevin finally jumped in, following my lead: “Summer, seriously... still not divorcing him?” Summer shot him a side-eye. “Divorce my ass.” Kevin looked frustrated already. “Lynn already has his kid. What more do you need?” “What? Lynn’s pregnant?” I just happened to be taking a sip of my drink and nearly choked when I heard that. I
