Even after all these years, I still can’t shake the guilt whenever I face Howard Smith. Instinctively, I lowered my head and softly muttered, “It’s me. Mr. Smith, long time no see. How’s your health?” Howard didn’t bother hiding his resentment. He straight-up snapped at me in front of the kid, “I heard someone close to Jason drugged Lena and Evan’s food recently. I don’t care who you paid to take the fall, but if you dare lay another finger on anyone from our family, Xander Lewis won’t be able to save you.” So he really believed Joanna was covering for me and assumed Xander took care of it.
