I was just about to be dragged over the edge of the cliff when the wailing shriek of a police siren cut through the sound of the downpour. A convoy of police cars sped to the scene with sirens blaring. Armed officers, one after another, got out of their vehicles and drew their guns, pointing them at the blond-haired man. "Freeze! Hands above your head!" The blond-haired man was momentarily stunned, causing his hold on me to loosen a bit. He turned to see a bunch of police cars behind him as well, and a flash of panic crossing his face. Several police officers seized that brief hesitation and swarmed him, tackling him hard onto the wet asphalt. "Stay down! Get your hands behind your head!" That blond-haired man attempted to resist the arrest but was pressed hard against the ground and couldn't budge.
