“What?! Ten million dollars?” Kathleen Turner’s face changed colour when she heard that. “Why don’t you go rob a bank?” “If I were to rob a bank, I wouldn’t just take this little amount!” Lingo said with a straight face, as if she had done such a thing. “You…” Looking at Lingo, Kathleen Turner felt like there was nothing she could do. She stared at her like she was a strange creature! “Well? Are you going to pay me or not?” Lingo looked at her and asked impatiently. “Where am I going to get that kind of money?” “Where are you going to get that kind of money? How would I know? And I don’t want to know. All I want is ten million dollars. You just need to tell me whether you are going to pay me or not!” Lingo enunciated each word in a forceful tone like it had nothing to do with her even if she died. Kathleen said nothing. There was no way she was going to get that ten million dollars! Even if she sold her racecar and other stuff, then asked for money from other places, she still would not be able to come up with so much money at once. She thought about it for a moment and said, “Fine, I can pay you ten million dollars, but you have to delete the video, and you can’t leave any back-ups, or else I’m going to get you!” Get her? Lingo sneered, and her tone was full of contempt. “Don’t worry. I’m not really interested in watching this!” Lingo said, disgusted. “Okay then, delete it now!” “What about the money?” “Ten million dollars is not small money. I only have half a million here. Lingo was the kind of woman who was defenseless to handsome men while Mark Pattinson was the kind of man who had no resistance to beautiful women. When they bumped into each other, there was something amusing about the situation. “Hi, Mr Pattinson!” Lingo greeted him with a smile on her face. Rumours had it that Mark Pattinson was the chief of the Gates of Hell. Although it was not confirmed, his identity was not to be underestimated. He might seem to be a businessman, but the truth was, his identity was a lot more unfathomable. Besides, Blake had considered him a sworn enemy. The fact that he could remain unharmed now meant that he definitely had a certain power. Mark Pattinson, on the other hand, glanced at her indifferently. There was no emotion on his gorgeous face. “You are?” As far as he could remember, he did not know Lingo. If he had met her before, he would have remembered her. Though, why did she come out of Kathleen’s room? Lingo smiled. “You don’t know me, but I know you!” “A lot of people know me, this is not surprising!” Lingo found herself speechless. Why did Mark Pattinson sound like he was being narcissistic?! ‘Ugh.’ Unfortunately, Lingo was not interested to dive deeper. “Are you Kathleen’s friend?” Mark Pattinson asked inquiringly. Somehow, Lingo gave him a different feeling. It was like they were the same kind of people, the kind Kathleen Turner would never get. If this were true, then he would be rather impressed by Kathleen Turner. It was too bad that… Lingo replied by asking, “Her name is Kathleen Turner?” Mark Pattinson said nothing about that. Why did she come and visit her when she did not even know her name? “Pardon me, I have no idea!” Lingo said in a tone that could tick people off. “What are you doing here then?” Mark Pattinson inquired. “I’m doing something that you have no knowledge about, of course!” Lingo said cheerfully. Mark Pattinson’s brow furrowed as he caught her glance. Then, Lingo looked up and said, “But you’re going to find out soon… My condolences!” She turned and walked away after saying that. The sight of her dashing back looked quite sassy. Looking at her back, Mark Pattinson frowned slightly. Then, he curled his lip faintly. His expression was somehow strange, making it impossible to read his mind. After walking out of the hospital, Lingo gave Hansel a call immediately. “I’ve done what you asked, but we’ll only get the money two days later…” Lingo informed him. Upon hearing that, Hansel’s lip curled. “Okay, I got it!” “By the way, I ran into Mark Pattinson just now!” Upon hearing his daddy’s name, Hansel was stunned for a moment. “He’s even more handsome in person than in the photo on the magazine. Unfortunately, it’s such a waste…” Hearing what she said, Hansel did not know how he could defend Mark Pattinson, so he chose to stay silent instead. Gretel, who had always been lazy, was helping Hansel to carry out dishes like an obedient girl. “Mommy, the food is almost ready!” Looking at their smile, Lyla felt that nothing else mattered anymore, because the most important people in her life were right in front of her eyes. Lyla dismissed her anxiety and walked over with a smile on her face. “What do we have here?” “All your favorites, Mommy!” Gretel said cheerfully. Looking at Gretel’s smile, Lyla said, “Great job. Come here, let Mommy give you a kiss!” Hansel, however, stepped aside disapprovingly. “Don’t, you already took away my first kiss. Leave me alone!” Hansel went to hide in the kitchen after saying that. Lyla was speechless. She smiled in a resigned manner. Gretel sat down and got ready to eat. At the same time, Hansel brought out the last dish from the kitchen. He took a seat and got ready to eat as well. Lyla looked at them and thought about it before she said, “My babies, I have something to tell you!” It was like they had expected Lyla would say that as Hansel and Gretel exchanged glances with each other. Then, Hansel said, “Sure, Mommy. Go ahead!” Lyla took a deep breath and told them everything, including the return of Mark Pattinson. When she finished, Lyla looked at them and said, “That’s what happened. Although I’m not the direct cause, I have no idea how Kathleen Turner is doing now!” Hansel and Gretel listened to what she said. The expression on their faces did not change in the slightest, because they had already known about the whole thing very clearly. Looking at them being calm, Lyla frowned and said, “Don’t you have anything to say?” Hansel took a bite of his food and said, “Mommy, if you really did push her down, I would be glad!” Lyla frowned. “Why?” “I’m still angry at her!” Lyla was speechless. “Mommy, for that kind of person, even if you keep letting her have her way, she still won’t understand. She wanted to harm you. You’re nice enough not to strike back!” Hansel said. Gretel nodded in agreement. “That’s right, Mommy. If someone messes with us, we’ll fight back. That’s how we’ve always been. Hansel is right!” Lyla pondered over their words. The reason why Kathleen Turner was like that was not only caused by the environment around her, but also probably because she loved Mark Pattinson too much. Her fear of losing him made her like this. Sometimes, when people cared too much about something, they would not allow others to touch it, and if someone did, they would go mad. This was especially so for Kathleen Turner, who grew up in a privileged environment, where everything was handed to her on a silver platter. She was naturally spoiled. No matter what she wanted, she made sure she got it! Seeing Lyla being silent, Hansel said, “All right, Mommy. Don’t think too much. Gretel and I are just worried about you!” Although Lyla was the kind of person who drew a clear line between love and hatred, she was too soft-hearted. That was her weakness. But Hansel was different. He was more extreme. He saw everything in black and white. He would not spare anyone who offended him, no matter who it was!
