Chapter 68 Hansel Reveals the Truth

Mark Pattinson stood beside her and remained silent all the while. She lived in her own fantasy as he had never promised her anything! After that, Mark Pattinson walked out with Ethan Miller. Both of them have nothing to say in common. After a short while, they left. When Mark Pattinson returned, he watched Kathleen Turner throw a bouquet of fresh flowers into the dustbin in a disgusted look. The entire scene unfolded before his sight. If he remembered clearly, the bouquet of flowers was given by Lyla. Apparently, she hated Lyla so much so as to throw this bouquet out of so many gifts. Mark Pattinson frowned and walked over to her. “What happened?” Seeing Mark Pattinson walk over, Kathleen Turner instantly took back her disgusted-looking face and instead, put on a gentle smile. “Mark!” The more she behaved in that manner, the more Mark Pattinson had grown to dislike her. Two-faced women were abhorrent to look at. He looked at the fresh flowers inside the dustbin. “Why throw it away?” “That was given by Lyla. Who knows if she put anything inside the flowers and because of it, something happens to me?” Kathleen Turner asked. After finishing her words, she sensed something unusual, and watching Mark Pattinson’s expression, she continued, “I don’t mind if something happens to me, but what about the child inside my belly?” “I don’t mind what she has done to me but I must protect my child!” At that moment, Kathleen Turner fully depicted a protective motherly figure. No matter how much effort she put in to defend herself, she was nothing but a hypocrite in his eyes. Seeing him not a word spoken, Kathleen Turner looked at him. “Mark, are you okay?” Mark Pattinson came back to his senses. “I’m okay!” Kathleen Turner was not too happy to look at. “Mark, are you thinking of that woman?” Apparently, she was referring to Lyla Lowe. Mark Pattinson frowned looking at her. “I just wanted to confirm if she’s the one who had pushed you down from the staircase?” he asked. “Of course!” Kathleen Turner answered affirmatively. “Not only had she cheated on you, but also pushed me down from the staircase. Mark, I don’t expect you to punish her but please, stay away from this woman!” Kathleen Turner said. Mark Pattinson frowned. He did not reply to her. “You don’t trust me?” Kathleen Turner refuted. Mark Pattinson remained silent. Not to say there was no trust, but… He would rather believe in Lyla’s character! Speaking of which, there was never a moment of doubt. Sometimes, he also found that his trust for Lyla had gone beyond his own boundary. He did not view it in the same way as Lyla cheating on him. In fact, there was no need for her to tell anyone that she already had a child… Thinking of this, the crease between his eyebrows went deeper. Ironically, he did not even have the slightest thought of Kathleen Turner’s child. “Mark!” Kathleen Turner stared at him. Mark Pattinson returned to his senses. “I’ll investigate the matter. Kathleen Turner, I know you are not fond of Lyla. But, this is a serious issue and I hope you’re not simply accusing her!” Against her expectation, Mark Pattinson was siding with Lyla even in this situation. Kathleen Turner felt even unhappy. Mark Pattinson believed in Lyla even at this moment and this feeling unnerved her. She looked at Mark Pattinson. “Mark, I hope you remember that I’m pregnant with your child. The child is yours!” Mark Pattinson stared at her. He remained quiet. Eileen Dawson had difficulty in sleeping and eating ever since she knew that Kathleen Turner was pregnant. She called Mark Pattinson. “What do you plan to do with the child?” Eileen Dawson asked, enunciating each word carefully. Mark Pattinson knew that, following the break out of the news of Kathleen Turner’s pregnancy, she would be the one who reacted most aggressively! He felt thrilled as if he had avenged himself. “What can I do? The child is not in my belly!” “Mark Pattinson, don’t forget your words!” “I’m a man of my words. Nonetheless, it was an accident. I don’t mind if you’re able to convince her to abort the child!” Only a heartless man could spit out those words. Eileen Dawson was fumed until her body was shaken up. “Let me warn you, if you really want to stay with the child, you’d better get out of the Pattinson family!” Mark Pattinson smirked. “I can leave, but don’t beg me to come home!” Eileen Dawson felt even more outraged. She knew that many projects were under Mark Pattinson’s control and if he gave up, the Pattinson family’s business would be at stake. “Mark Pattinson, don’t be too overwhelming!” Eileen Dawson was very furious. Mark Pattinson smirked. “I’ll hang up the phone if there’s nothing else!” As soon as he finished his words and without spending another moment listening to Eileen Dawson’s words, he immediately hung up the phone. While still holding the phone in her hand, a glimpse of chillness was caught in her eyes. By all means, Kathleen Turner’s child must be aborted… She would not allow Mark Pattinson to have that child! Everything in Pattinson's family belonged to Logan! Thinking of this, a glimpse of cruelty was caught in her eyes… After leaving the hospital, Mark Pattinson did not return to the Pattinson family’s home, instead, he went back to his own apartment. A look at the surveillance video alone would reveal the truth regarding the accident that had happened recently. He then asked someone to look for that surveillance video, only to receive news that the video has been destroyed. There was no other way to review the scene. Mark Pattinson frowned and looked sober. He was very certain that none of these was a coincidence! The video was said to have been destroyed just when he was about to check on it… A cold smile arched across his lips. No matter who destroyed it, it led to only one conclusion. Something was fishy with the accident! It was certain that the accident did not go according to what Kathleen Turner had explained. Otherwise, there was no need to destroy the evidence. A deliberate cover-up would only induce Mark Pattinson to trust himself more. At that moment, a faint sound came from his computer. He gazed at the computer, someone sent him an email. He frowned, then clicked open. To his astonishment, a video was attached to it and the video was exactly what he has been looking for! It was the same video that had recorded the spot where the accident had taken place. At the moment, he did not even bother to dig out the sender’s identity. His gaze was fixated on the video. As there was no sound coming from the video, he could only analyze it based on the suspects’ expressions and gestures. Lyla looked nonchalant, and she put on an ambiguous smile as if she did not care about anything and was self-confident. It was the same feeling that he had developed a love-hate relationship for. Wouldn’t she feel nervous or worried about him when he was not around? The scene showed Kathleen Turner shouting like a madwoman before she slapped Lyla. He frowned. After a moment, Lyla was seen returning her slap. Looking at the scene, he smiled! This was the Lyla that he knew! Unknowingly, he felt very proud when he saw Lyla counter Kathleen Turner’s attack. The next scene was the moment of truth to clear all his doubts. As expected, he has trusted Lyla that she, despite being cold and unfriendly, would not commit such an act. Although he also knew that Lyla was not very fond of Kathleen Turner. The video did not bring many surprises to him as he had always trusted himself since the beginning of the day. Thinking of this, he smirked. He always has an answer for himself in whatever circumstances. After finishing the video, only then he remembered the sender. How did he know that he needed it? The feeling of being monitored secretly pissed him off. Based on the IP address of the video, he checked its source. He wanted to find out who did this. Hansel sat in front of the computer and was alerted that Mark Pattinson was checking for his traces. At that instance, he knew that he had watched the video. He felt relieved as long as he managed to clear his mother’s name. However, he has overlooked his daddy’s stubbornness. Mark Pattinson kept checking for him and eventually, Hansel was aggravated and he typed. [Mark Pattinson, what do you want from me?] Seeing his counterpart take the initiative to chat with him and also be able to spell out his name without errors, he knew that the person must have known a lot about him. [Obviously, I want to know who you are!] [What’s the use of knowing about me?] Hansel refuted. [Of course, I want to know if you’re an ally or an enemy!] [I’ve helped you to unveil the truth. What do you think?] [How do you know that was the thing I was looking for?] The feeling of someone knowing a lot about him was irritating. It was the first time he had encountered such a situation. Hansel’s computer skills were beyond the ordinary level. Although Mark Pattinson was smart, he was only an amateur in computer literacy. Otherwise, given Mark Pattinson’s temper, he would seek his counterpart out by all means including the use of the world's top hacker. [Please do not hack into my computer without my permission in the future!] Mark Pattinson warned him. Nonetheless, whenever his counterpart hacked into his computer, he did nothing to his stuff. As such, Mark Pattinson felt a little relieved. But, his warning was obviously very ineffective! This was because his identity was already exposed while his counterpart’s identity remained unknown.
