BREAKING DOWN MY WALLS
I parted my lips to say something, but the expression I saw on his face made all air disperse from my lungs.
“Why do you do it, Leah?
Do you enjoy torturing me all the time?
Does it please you when you make me look like a fool?” He hissed out the words like they tasted bitter on his tongue.
“Ethan.
I would never hurt you intentionally,” I rasped, my voice barely above a whisper but still echoing around the silent car.
“But you do,” he growled—his eyes flared wide.
I watched with wide eyes as he pounded harshly against the steering wheel.
Then, he snapped his gaze back to me—staring me dead in the eyes.
It felt almost like he was trying to pierce through my soul, and make me understand his words.
“You do it, Leah.
You hurt me every single time.
And I hate that you make me feel this way,” he gritted, through clenched teeth while running his hands down his hair.
Then, he clenched them in a fist again, resting his palms on the steering wheel, tapping hard against them.
