CAMILA'S POV
The safehouse appeared to be in a state of tension, much like me. I could hear the sharp cracks of sniper fire and the distant hum of engines outside. Like wolves poised to attack, they were circling. Sweat slickened the cold metal of my gun as I tightened my grip.
Camila, this is it. Don't stop here.
The first explosion made the door tremble. My heart leapt. Every second, the sound of more voices and footsteps grew closer and closer. With keen ears and scanning eyes, I moved like a shadow. The fear in the air was almost palpable.
Luis's steady but shaky voice could be heard over the radio. They are advancing from the east. There are also snipers on the roofs.
