CHAPTER 56 Lila I stared at myself in the mirror one more time. I didn't want to wear anything special. The lady thing I wanted to do, was give Lucien's mother the impression that I'm getting all dolled up for her.  The shirt that I wore hung to my body like a second skin, paired with baggy jeans and sneakers. My hair was tied back in a ponytail, with a touch of lipgloss. It was giving effortless energy. Exactly what I wanted to portray.  I headed downstairs, where Lucien was already waiting for me with the kids. I took in the sight of him helping them with their homework, and I felt a dull ache in my chest.  Was he still going to act the same way with them when he actually found out that they were his? Or was he going to disappear and see me as some kind of villain? What were the kids going to think about me? “Lila?” He called out, looking over at me with concern as he pulled me out of my thoughts. “Are you okay?” He asked, as he left them, and walked over to me at the bottom of
