The next day, Nancy was in low spirits. Nathan left early in the morning. Lucas went to her room and stood outside the door. He knocked on it, but there was no response. I passed through the door and saw that she was already up and fully dressed, standing by the window and spacing out. Lucas knocked twice, but Nancy ignored him. His patience was wearing thin, so he tried turning the doorknob. When he realized that it wasn't locked, he opened the door and entered. "Grandma." He called out to her, but she still didn't respond. He walked over and stood next to her before speaking up again. "Grandma, I have news about Joanne, but she can't come back now. How about I take you to her?" Nancy finally stirred when she heard my name. Turning around, she looked at Lucas. I also saw the look in her eyes and noticed how they had become much cloudier after just one night. Her complexion also seemed rather pale. She must've been so heartbroken that she didn't sleep well last night. Even so
