Tyren knew how intelligent Thalia was, and that she must have known who Jaron really was after overhearing the conversation between Jaron and Alden. He suppressed a smile. "They do all kinds of business, and they happen to be business partners with the Whitlockes as well. We got to know each other somehow." Thalia was about to ask more when Alden said scornfully behind them, "Tyren, you shouldn't try to brag when you don't have the means to!" He raised his sign once more. "Buyer number 13 bids 20 million." Tyren ignored him and continued to bid. "Buyer number six bids 25 million." Thalia was getting agitated. If the bidding went on, the price would only get higher. Even if Tyren's family was rich, she did not want him to go against Alden for her. "I don't like it. Don't get it." Beside them, Jaron crossed his arms and leaned back casually in his seat, watching them in silent enjoyment. This was the first time in three years that he had ever seen his cousin spend so much money
