Chapter 31
Lilith had been in the psych ward for over six months. At first, her mood was all over the place—she'd scream, cry, and lash out. But over time, she grew quiet, only muttering to herself without end.
She barely left her room. While other patients wandered the hallways, yelling or making a fuss, she just sat there, motionless, like a statue. Her skin was ghostly pale from not seeing the sun for so long, giving her an eerie vibe.
Her face, a bit puffy now, looked more like a lifeless mask stretched over bone—nothing like the vibrant, charming girl she used to be.
Back when she'd just been admitted, her parents had visited. But when they saw how much she'd changed—her strange behavior, her cold expressions—they had no choice but to let the doctors continue the treatment.
They originally planned to transfer her back to Velmont for better care, but a major crisis hit the Wakefield family business. With that on their plate, they left her in Blackridge, figuring Emmanuel would take decent car
