CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY TWO – CALLING ON THE DETECTIVES
The next day, Lance pulled her into a confidential meeting room, his expression grim.
"Kayla, this has gone too far. We need to get to the bottom of this immediately before any more damage is done." He rubbed his temples wearily. "The detective agrees - based on the escalating threats and sabotage, whoever is doing this isn't messing around. They're hurting you in the one arena they know will cut deepest."
Kayla felt her stomach lurch. "You mean...they know how much I've invested in my work? In this company?"
"It seems that way," Lance said grimly. "We're going to get extra IT support, checking for any breaches or system compromises. And security is being tightened further around your movements and access areas."
"What about the police?" Kayla asked, feeling like her world was crumbling. "What are they doing?"
"All evidence and leads are being followed up on. But..." Lance shook his head. "So far, there's been nobody caught on the building's camera systems. No eventual fingerprint
