#Chapter 31 Fleeing into the night
Aaron’s POV
I feel like I’m ready to snap in two.
It has never been clearer to my cabinet, the news, and even myself that Mae and I are officially political opponents.
Yet this damn, stronger version of our mate bond has me yearning for her every second of the day. Physically, emotionally, intellectually, I want her, need her, crave her.
So when Ruby told me I shouldn’t give up “fighting for Mommy” if I still love her, I gave in and bought the house next to Mae. It was impulsive and rash and so very satisfying.
I tried to give Mae the freedom she deserves. I really did. It worked for almost a week.
I didn’t even know she was moving until my personal detective informed me. But wouldn’t you know the house next to her was for sale, too. Thank you, Makah.
Seeing as the last time I was alone with Mae, she literally threw me off her, knocking me out in the process, I’ve decided to keep my new residence a secret. There’s a possibility Mae is still… upset with me.
