Chapter 28
Swallowing hard, I ripped the shirt where the wound was. There were a few gasps – including mine – when we saw the deep cut on Abigail’s flat stomach. Blood was gushing out of it. The wound was turning black from the wolfs bane.
I tried to calm down as much as possible before I proceeded. I really didn’t want to mess up. Instead of thinking about what was going on, I closed my eyes and thought of a positive outcome. I thought of Abigail healthy and glowing, smiling and laughing.
I drew in a shaky breath, placing my hands over the wound. I called for help from the ancient healers as I recited the familiar words and started the healing process.
“Hilatu mikatu. Hilatu mikatu. Hilatu mikatu,” I whispered.
I imagined Abigail crying at the altar, smiling widely at Eli. She looked beautiful in her wedding gown.
