Gwen followed Jaden out of the lab while Natalie's eyes sparkled with a hint of pride. "See? I won." Horatio's gaze was full of warmth. "I knew you would. But if you're poaching someone from my institute, shouldn't you give me something in return?" Natalie arched a brow before speaking in a slightly teasing tone. "Something in return? Like taking you out to dinner tonight?" "That's not enough." Horatio leaned in and said softly near her ear, "I haven't thought of something yet. For now, just come with me to pick up Star. We'll take her out for dinner and celebrate your victory." His sudden closeness made Natalie flush. Her body stiffened for a second, then she took a subtle step back, thinking she was being discreet. Noticing her discomfort, Horatio's eyes dimmed slightly. He glanced at the tips of her reddened ears with an unreadable smile. He didn't move closer, just watched her try to act composed. He found it amusing. Natalie, feeling even more awkward under his gaze, cleare
