Before long, Florence was due to return. Walter had gone up the mountain early that morning to pick her up. The moment Florence got out of the car, Hailey hurried over. "You're finally back, Grandma! I missed you so much!" Florence might be up in years, but she was still in high spirits. Her gaze still carried a certain authority. She patted Hailey's hand and said, "You silly girl. I see you're still quite the charmer." Audrey quickly stepped forward to steady Florence. "It must've been a tiring trip, Florence. The house is all set. Please rest up." Florence hummed in acknowledgment. Then, her gaze swept through the crowd, and she frowned. "Where's Natalie?" Hailey feigned hesitance. "Nellie has been… busy with the company lately. She might not be able to make it." A dark look crossed Florence's eyes, though she said nothing more. "Let's go in," she said simply. Florence had sharp eyes that missed nothing. She settled into the pearwood chair, sipping her tea at an unhurried pace
