The words never left her throat.
Olivia stayed in the room until 4 PM. She hadn't spoken much with Sophie, even though she had the chance. Instead, she spent her time looking at a list of names, marking some of them down.
Sophie glanced at the list and noticed the marks. "What are those for?" she asked.
Olivia didn't look up from her list. "Work," she replied.
"What kind of work?"
"Donations."
"Are these all names of people who have donated?" Sophie asked.
Olivia had managed to gather some donations, but it still wasn't enough for the welfare center. She looked up from the list and met Sophie's eyes. "No, not yet. Some of them might donate, but others might not. That's where I come in," she explained. "I need to figure out who's likely to donate and who isn't. And for those who might, I have to figure out what to say to get as much help as possible."
