Setting aside the papers, Victor took a drink, then stretched out his long arm and pulled her onto his lap. She nestled into his embrace, her face buried against his shoulder, savoring the quiet moment. "Don’t want to leave?" he murmured, patting her shoulder, amusement glinting in his eyes. Le Su, no longer shy, nodded against him. "Mhm." "Just text me whenever you want to see me. I’ll come anytime," he reassured her in that low, steady voice.
