Chapter 9

I turned towards the noise, there was another baby lying in the other cradle. It let out another giggle as soon as my eyes landed on it. I watched in awe as it gave me a toothless smile, cheeks digging deep on either side, its pitch black eyes shining with mirth. I stood rooted, unable to look away. That was the most beautiful thing ever. I walk towards him and stood by him. Slowly, I took my index finger and poked him in the dip of his cheek. He giggled and wrapped his little fingers around my index. I quickly withdrew my finger in shock. "I like him mommy" I declared, not taking my eyes off him as he now turned his attention to the green eyed baby. Well another reason for me to dislike the green baby. I heard laughter coming from all direction. They were all laughing, mom, dad, the other woman and the doctor. "That's not a he son, that's a she" the doctor said laughing. I knotted my brows in confusion. "Tha
