Chapter 108 Wedding Invitation

“Wow. I don’t know if I should congratulate you or feel sorry for you.” Cindy said as she took a sip of her coffee.
I let out a heavy sigh, my eyes fixed on the wedding invitation sitting on my desk like an ominous reminder of the mess I’ve gotten myself into. The elegant golden cursive lettering, the intricate floral design—everything about it screamed perfection, yet it felt so wrong.
An hour ago, I was on a video call with a client, and it went well. For the first time in days, I actually thought I could get through my work without Nicholas intruding on my thoughts. Without his voice echoing in my mind, without the image of him standing there, telling me we should stay business partners, like none of it ever mattered.
But, of course, life has a cruel sense of humor.
My secretary had walked in earlier, carrying a package with a knowing smile. I wasn’t expecting anything, but as soon as I saw the invitation, I knew exactly where it had come from.
