Chapter 11

Seeing Nadia dressed like that, a faint blush crept over Stanley's ears. He forced a calm expression and asked casually, "Mia, what is it?" Nadia took his hand and gave it a gentle shake. "It's getting late. We should get some rest. What are you still working on?" Stanley smiled softly and shook his head. "It's all done. You're right. It's time to rest." As he spoke, he wrapped an arm around Nadia's shoulders and led her back toward the room. On the cozy bed, the two lay tightly embraced with their eyes closed but neither slept at all that night. Wrapped in Stanley's arms, Nadia stayed still, but her thoughts stirred quietly. "Rebecca, you were right. He really didn't ask about you at all. "He's not someone to be trusted or loved. If it weren't for your warning, I probably would've fallen for this false kindness too, without even realizing it." After finally getting the chance to fall asleep with his long-lost treasure in his arms, Stanley was surprised to find that the joy he
