Katelyn’s POV
Two months passed, the city shifting through late winter into the first hints of spring.
Time felt different now. Every day was filled with work, family dinners, and quiet moments when I tried to sort out my thoughts.
My parents lived in a big mansion in Tribeca, one of the nicest parts of New York. The house was full of windows and light, but even there, life never seemed to slow down.
Sometimes at night, I would stand by the window and look out at the city lights.
Wondering if I had really changed or if I had just gotten better at hiding how much some things still hurt.
News of Fiona’s recovery brought a soft lift to my mood.
For weeks, our messages had been short, sometimes just a photo of a meal or a quick update from her hospital room.
