Chapter 69: My Happily Ever After

Demi             “Gavin, you missed Ryder. I think he went to the gym.” He grinned as if that’s exactly what he wanted to hear.             “Actually, I wanted to have a word with you.” I moved the door so that it was in between Gavin and I. I looked around it ready to shut it at any moment. My instincts were telling me to run, and I don’t know why.               “If you want to speak to me, Gavin, you will need to do so while my mate is present. Otherwise, I don’t think it is appropriate for us to be alone together. I’m sure you understand.” The grin vanished from his face and was replaced now with an angered expression. One that reminded me of the one person who was able to send shivers down my spine just by the mention of his name, Ares. An image flashed in my head. The same image I saw last night in the club right before I passed out when I thought Gavin was Ares. A sick feeling coated my stomach and I found myself wondering if it was simply a hallucination or could it be… no Ares
